It was great to finally be back at the home track! Testing on Friday went very well. I needed to try get as many laps in as possible and with every lap I happy to be improving speed and consistency.  I was really looking forward to racing on Saturday with the BOSS Ireland class, which had some impressive machines on show.

Qualifying went well on Saturday morning. I managed to get a P8 out of the 18 on the grid, I was happy with that considering the cars we were up against....

The final two rounds of Monoposto 1000 took place Saturday and Sunday in Brands Hatch on the mighty Grand Prix Circuit. We tested on Friday, but it was only the Indy track for testing so it wasn’t a huge amount of help, so I just got myself into the right mindset for the weekend ahead and a reminder of my first ever race in both the car and the track!

Qualifying was going to be a massive learning curve, it is a very technical track, with some very brave and impressive turns. I qualified P5, getting out early to get some clear...

Brilliant weekend of racing and a lot of hard work in between!

Testing on Friday was a great way to get grips with the track, which proved a challenging track to learn with amazingly long straights and a lot of tight and tricky corners. The first two sessions helped me get to know the track, and sessions three and four were planned for pushing myself and my Leastone 1000.

Unfortunately, during the 3rd session I pushed a little too far leaving a lot of hard work for my team on Friday night to be 100% for qualifying on Saturday morning, at thi...

Castle Combe Circuit - we will definitely remember this track for all time to come...the place where I got my 1st win!

Getting to know the track in testing on Thursday was unusual, but there definitely was lots to learn.  The distance on the track was 3km, fast paced, with some great chicanes. Throughout the 4 testing sessions we steadily progressed quicker and quicker as I gained confidence. Having 4x15 minute testing sessions was definitely better than the 2 half hour session format we usually see, as I got an opportunity to get out and debri...

Bishopscourt wasn’t always on my radar but we saw it as a good opportunity to gain more experience of the Leastone 1000 on a fast-flowing track. Not that I was expecting to mix it with the powerful BOSS cars but I was sure it was going to be fun! Saturday morning after a grand sleep at Casa del Leastone, we took advantage of the single half hour untimed practice session. After only ever driving the course once last year in the Vee, I needed to familiarise myself with the track again.

After a couple of laps learning, broken up by some red flag in...

We departed from Leastone HQ on Wednesday evening and headed for Dublin port for my first journey to Donington Park. We arrived at the track in the early hours of Thursday morning, managed to catch a few hours’ sleep before setting up and preparing for the afternoon test sessions.

Getting to know the track was going to be the first hurdle to overcome, and getting used to such a high powered car was next! Testing went well, with two half hour sessions just enough to get to grips with all I had to learn, both on the track and in the car for now.

Winning the Finol Star of Tomorrow was some achievement, and the feeling was amazing that the year of driving paid off. However, Brands Hatch...well that was absolutely amazing from start to finish.

I allowed myself a silly moment of excitement when team Leastone arrived in Brands Hatch on Thursday evening and we were directed to a designated garage for ME!!

Testing on Friday didn't really happen for me, heavy rain meant that the track was super hard to get to grips with. In addition, I had an engine issue which had me on the side lines for the m...

The 2018 Monoposto championship finale ended up being a bit of damp squib at Silverstone last weekend, with the meeting being abandoned due to extreme weather conditions on Sunday. In order to retain his MonoMoto 1000 crown, Mark Reade needed to outscore the championship leader by 14 points with a maximum of 26 available across the 2 final races.

Despite the size of the task at hand, the team were keen for maximum attack and Mark kicked off the weekend well, posting a time good enough for 2nd in class, 5th overall and most importantly, ahead of...

Mark Reade’s sophomore season in Monoposto continued to be a trying one, as the series visited the challenging Cadwell Park mountain circuit last weekend. Reade left the Lincolnshire circuit with just a 9th place to his name, following a DNF in Race 1 but team mate Morgan McCourt enjoyed better fortune, capturing two top 6 finishes on his first visit to Cadwell in the Leastone 1000.

Qualifying went well for both drivers, with Reade logging a time good enough for the inside of row 2 for both of the day’s races. Morgan would line up 4 rows behind,...

The Leastone team suffered a trying weekend on the Oulton Park International layout last weekend, with a number of technical issues hitting each of the 3 team members throughout the course of the weekend. Team regulars Mark Reade and Morgan McCourt were joined by Brendan O’Brien for his first outing of 2018, in his new Global Service Centres 1000.

During Friday’s test session, Morgan and Mark continued to build on the knowledge gained during 2017’s visit to the Cheshire track, while Brendan steadily got himself up to speed around the challenging...
