The Leastone team kicked off their 2020 Formula Vee campaign at Mondello Park last week, with a double header around the national circuit. Leastone Racing Team announced today that they will be joined by 2017 Irish Formula Vee champion, Colm Blackburn for an assault on the 2020 UK Monoposto Championship. Blackburn returns to full competition following select Formula Ford outings in 2019.

I was bitten by the motorsport bug relatively late by modern day standards, when I started out karting at 11. I competed in a handful of races with my younger brother before taking a break due to escalating costs. Having been given a taste, I did not want to give up and together with my family, we began to look at a more cost-effective way of going about things. Following an impressive Monoposto debut, as part of the Finol Star of Tomorrow championship towards the end of 2018, young hotshoe Max Hart committed himself to the 2019 championship season. The works Leastone team have a seat available for the 2020 Monoposto season. The available car is that which took Max Hart to runner up in the Monomoto 1000 championship class, with a number of performances that earned him Motorsport Ireland's Young Driver of the Year nomination for the month of June.

Leastone boss Paul Heavey made a successful return to the Leastone 1000 cockpit last weekend, when he and Brendan O’Brien visited Anglesey for rounds 5 and 6 of the Monoposto Tiedeman Trophy. Max Hart rounded out his successful 2019 with a brace of podiums at rounds 3 and 4 of Monoposto's Tiedeman Trophy at a sodden Pembrey last weekend. Hart was joined by David Heavey, who returned to the cockpit for the first time in 2 years, securing a pair of top 6 finishes overall.

18 year-old Max Hart has been selected as the third nominee for the 2019 Motorsport Ireland Young Racing Driver of the Year for his performances in the month of June. Hailing from Baltinglass, Co.
