Morgan McCourt rounded out his 2026 Monoposto Championship campaign with another pair podium finishes around the iconic Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit. Fresh from taking his maiden M1000 victory at Donington Park, where he also extended a run of podium finishes, Morgan arrived in Kent looking to finish the season strongly aboard the Selco Leastone 1000.

The 3.916 km Grand Prix layout provided the setting for Rounds 14 and 15 of the championship, with a single qualifying session followed by two 20-minute races and the grid for Race 2 determined by fastest laps from the opener. Morgans qualifying session was unfortunately curtailed to just 4 laps, due to a cracked exhaust. Despite the short session, his pace was encouraging and he would line up 3rd of the M1000 runners.

Race 1

Sunday morning's opening encounter took place in overcast but dry conditions, with Morgan starting from the eighth row of the 30-car grid. He emerged from the opening lap in 15th overall before jumping to 13th on lap 2. He maintained his 3rd place within the M1000 field, separated from the top 2 by a handful of other class runners.

A Safety Car intervention then neutralised proceedings for a couple of laps before racing resumed for a final sprint to the flag. After the safety car pulled off, Morgan was focused on battling past other classes, which meant he could not position himself to challenge the M1000 top 2. He would bring the Selco Leastone home 14th overall and 3rd in M1000.

It was another solid podium result and, importantly, Morgan's fastest lap secured 11th place on the grid for the afternoon's season finale.

Race 2

Starting 11th overall and third in M1000, Morgan found himself shuffled back during a frantic opening lap, crossing the line 16th overall. From there, the Leastone driver settled into a consistent run, but again he was mired among other classes, hampering his ability to challenge the M1000 front runners.

As with Race 1, Morgan's pace ramped up as the race progressed and after 13 laps, he crossed the line 16th overall and 3rd in M1000, securing his second class podium of the day.

The double podium brought the curtain down on Morgan's 2026 Monoposto Championship season. After taking his breakthrough M1000 victory at Donington Park just three weeks earlier, the two third-place finishes at Brands Hatch provided another solid weekend for him and his Selco Leastone 1000 to close out the campaign. The result brought his season podium tally to 7 and also secured 3rd in the M1000 championship.
